This Day Just Keeps Getting Better
Ok so I was feeling really discouraged this morning. It feels like no matter what I do I can't get Parker to sleep better at night and during the day naps sometimes can be soo hard to get him to go to sleep. And the formula thing is a whole other thing that I can't seem to get him convinced to do. So I said a prayer and then went on with the day. So back up to yesterday, I put Parker down for a nap and decided to try leaving the door open (I never did before because it seemed every noise woke him up) anyway so he slept for an hour and half. He's never napped that long without someone holding him. So I tried it again today and he slept an hour and 45 minutes which is almost as long as he's sleeping at night. So then I had this thought maybe a noise maker?. Which I had this thought before but I just brushed it off. So now I'm convinced that may be the answer. He's still sleeping in our room because I hate to move him because I don't want to be getting up a bazillion times to go stick a pacifier in his mouth, but I was thinking of moving him out anyway, I thought maybe we were waking him up. Anyway we'll see how it goes. I also bought batteries for his jumper which now he loves even more. I just thought I'd share seeing as my blog is always so negative:)

We had Avery sleeping in our room the first couple of weeks but I found that I was waking up every sound she made so we started having her sleep in her crib and it has been working for us. Last night was a miracle she slept from midnight until six.
ReplyDeleteAlso we give her a pacifier during the day but we don't let her have it at bedtime because we have noticed that when she loses it while sleeping she wakes up and its hard to get her back to sleep. So you might want to try getting him to sleep without it, if at all possible.
oh yeah one more thing.....When we put Avery to sleep at night we have a box fan that makes a humming noise that we turn on. She seems to like the constant noise.
I know you can buy CD's that are like that. They kind of make a static ocean noise. Kayston LOVED noises. He would always fall asleep when I would vacuum and if he would cry in the car I would crank up the stereo and he would conk out. He also slept at night with music on.
ReplyDeleteMy advice...move him into his own room and try something like that. Let him cry for a while and if he cries every time he loses his binki, don't give it to him at night anymore. Oh, and if you have a monitor...turn it off. If you have it on you're more than likely to go in for every noise. When it's off you'll still here him cry. Good luck!!
