8 hours!
8 hours! Parker seriously slept 8 hours last night! I've been just letting him cry at night to put himself back to sleep, I know this sounds mean, but it's really the only way he's ever going to change his habit of waking up so much. I knew he wasn't hungry cause he'd wake up, eat an ounce, and fall back asleep, he was just using me to help himself fall back asleep and I've tried everything. I tried working with him at naps to put him down awake so he could learn to put himself back to sleep and he does sometimes, but he was just in the habit of waking up and mommy putting him back to sleep and for the sake of the family we all need sleep! I also knew it was what was best for him too so that he could be happy and alert during the day. I also started him on rice cereal which he loves! I think he would have licked the bowl if I let him and he knew how! He's always been so fascinated with me eating so it was like he knew exactly what to do and he just gobbled it up! Anyway, I just had to share the good news.

So I'm back to feeling discouraged. I'm kind of pathetic. So I'm like totally at my wits end with this sleeping thing. I feel like I've tried everything. I'm even sad to say I let her cry himself to sleep, but he woke up a half hour later and started crying again. I really think he won't eat enough during the day, although he doesn't eat much when he get's up. Anyway so I switched him to formula which has been a horrible experience. As most of you know I've been trying to get him to take formula for awhile, I've tried mixing breast milk and formula I've had other people feed him, nothing. I was feeling hopeless, and I feel bad to let him cry at night especially if he just wasn't getting enough from me. So needless to say Parker didn't eat anything for 10 1/2 hours until he finally took the formula at 10:30 at night..his first night waking. So he's been on it for a day or two and nothing. And now I'm just feeling really bad about stopping the nursing. I never thought it would make me feel so bad, especially cause I really didn't plan to nurse him for too much longer, it just makes me feel bad that it was so uprupt. That and doing bottles at night is horrible. It's such a process before I go to bed to get them ready and everytime I go in there with him as he wakes up he get's ticked and he won't fall back asleep after, and now I'm feeling like just putting him in his crib and walking away, I just feel bad like I'm cutting him off from everything, I'm such a sap. I just wanted to do it all a little more gradually not all at once. Anyway so there's probably going to be a lot of crying at my house at night here soon so we'll see. He still hardly eats any formula the most he does is 4 ozs and that's only rarely. What do I do?

This Day Just Keeps Getting Better
Ok so I was feeling really discouraged this morning. It feels like no matter what I do I can't get Parker to sleep better at night and during the day naps sometimes can be soo hard to get him to go to sleep. And the formula thing is a whole other thing that I can't seem to get him convinced to do. So I said a prayer and then went on with the day. So back up to yesterday, I put Parker down for a nap and decided to try leaving the door open (I never did before because it seemed every noise woke him up) anyway so he slept for an hour and half. He's never napped that long without someone holding him. So I tried it again today and he slept an hour and 45 minutes which is almost as long as he's sleeping at night. So then I had this thought maybe a noise maker?. Which I had this thought before but I just brushed it off. So now I'm convinced that may be the answer. He's still sleeping in our room because I hate to move him because I don't want to be getting up a bazillion times to go stick a pacifier in his mouth, but I was thinking of moving him out anyway, I thought maybe we were waking him up. Anyway we'll see how it goes. I also bought batteries for his jumper which now he loves even more. I just thought I'd share seeing as my blog is always so negative:)

Not Crazy After All..At Least Not Completely
Well the Dr's visit was..eventful, Parker has thrush. It's nice to know what's causing him to be so ornery and just start crying out of the blue and not wanting to eat, or acting like he does and then crying when you try to feed him, but it's been hard to have patience. He's been on the medicine for almost a week and still being fussy. I have to give him medicine 5 times a day and treat myself everytime I feed him. It's like a full time job, but I guess that's motherhood, right? If he's distracted it's not as bad but it takes a lot to keep him entertained, needless to say I went and bought him a jumper today. It has been the best investment yet! He loves it! He just wanted to jump all the time and my arms were getting a work out, which is good, but I need a rest sometimes. We just put it together tonight, but so far so good. Anyway, sorry so depressing, I'm really hoping things will get better after this thrush is taken care of. Then we'll work on the formula thing, then the sleeping, and then...
